Safety & accessibility

A radiator cover is, first, a safety product.

Hot metal surfaces are a real hazard in family homes, care settings and any space shared with small children, elderly residents or anyone with reduced sensation. A properly built cover takes that hazard out of the room without changing how the radiator works.

Young children

Toddlers reach radiators at face height. A modern panel radiator can sit comfortably at 60–70 °C — more than hot enough to cause a real burn in a few seconds. Every cover we build keeps those surfaces out of reach while letting the room heat normally.

  • Routed, rounded grilles — no sharp metal edges
  • Cabinets fixed to wall so they can't be pulled over
  • Childproof fastenings where needed

Elderly residents & dementia care

Thinner skin and slower reflexes mean older adults are at higher risk of burns from accidental contact. In dementia care, a bare radiator can also be a source of confusion or distress. A covered radiator is simply safer — and quieter-looking in a room that already has enough to process.

  • Care-home-grade construction, fire-retardant finish options
  • Secure, tamper-resistant fixings
  • Cabinet tops usable for photos, lamps, familiar objects

Disability, neuropathy & reduced sensation

People with peripheral neuropathy (from diabetes, MS or other conditions), spinal injuries or limited mobility may not notice a hot radiator in time. Wheelchair users in particular can sit at exactly the wrong height. A cover removes the risk without changing the room.

  • Knee-clearance and side-access variations
  • Stable surfaces rated for leaning
  • Flush installation so no cabinet corners to catch on

Sensory-friendly & autism-aware design

For autistic children and adults, and anyone with sensory sensitivities, a bare radiator can be visually noisy, tempting to touch, or hum loudly. We build covers aimed at calming the environment — not advertising themselves.

  • Matte finishes that don't glare or reflect flickering light
  • Smooth, closed fronts with no exposed metal or sharp edges
  • Neutral colour options to blend into the wall, not stand out
  • Quieter room: covers dampen the ticking of an expanding radiator
